If I have a tv which supports HDR10+, which one should I download? Does the non-DV one have HDR?

    • DAHAKA says:

both versions have HDR, but better get non-DV version, cause some TVs have issues finding HDR metadata on a file contains both HDR and DV metadata in one place.

      • Jesper says:

Alright thanks, I was going to stream it through Plex and my Google Drive connected to my pc through Raidrive. Ill go for the non-dv one.

  2. John says:

  3. Alexiaa says:

    Hi!

Thanks a lot for your work!

I just have a couple of questions regarding HDR:

    – If I download the DV version and play it on a non-DV compatible TV, will it be play as HDR10?
    – The other links you provided, the ones without DV, are they HDR10 compatible?

Maybe my question not really relevant – sorry about that – but I just want to understand how it works.

    Thanks!

    • DAHAKA says:

server #118 on zippyshare is down, currently 2 parts are on server #118 and both not showing up.
wait for a few hours, if server’s still down let me know and I’ll reupload it.

I checked again and seems like server #118 is back online. you can download now.

  9. Kpoplover says:

Can you please check The Return Of The King DV part 189? It’s the only one that doesn’t apparently exist on zippyshare anymore, others downloaded well.

  12. sk says:

Wow, filespeeds on zippyshare are awful. Max 500-700KB/s on top of the line gigabit internet. No other uploads have this issue from zippyshare?

    • Heretic says:

Same here. Taking eight days to download RotK lol

    • That guy says:

ZS and 1fichier are both really slow right now.
Tis the case with free services, you get what you pay for.
I even have 20 simultaneous ZS links going at a time and that still only nets me 1MiB/s.
I even tried doing separate downloads over different IP addresses using different VPNs and it’s the same.
Going to take over a day to download a remux season of The Office and there are 9 seasons.
Thankfully this just runs in the back ground so i can set it and forget it.
Just have to live with it for now I guess.

  19. Brantley says:

Is there any way to play DV on an Android TV straight off a USB external drive? Doesn’t look like Kodi is friendly with DV yet.

    • Cheatah says:

As far as i read about it, there isn’t a way to do it. Or doing it easily. In MakeMKV forums people achieved to stream DV by KODI by modding the player to use exoplayer codec. But they’ve done it on nvidia shield. Right now you need android based player to stream DV, and so my TV is android there must be a way to mod KODI on TV and stream DV straight off USB drive inserted to TV. But there are people with more info than me about this subject so let’s wait them.

Sorry, it’s not possible for me. Mega links for DV version are from a friend, I didn’t upload them on Mega.

  22. Nildur says:

Can’t seem to get any link to work. Either rate limit exceeded, or 404s.

  23. cateyap says:

  25. BoneCrusher9821 says:

Thanks, Dahaka. Can you please add return of the king without DV?

  26. UHD Junkie says:

I thought we needed 12 bit panels to fully take advantage of dolbyvision? How are we getting dolbyvision when we only have 10 bit panels? And does it still make a difference when using a 10 bit panel display?

    • Kpoplover says:

You are still getting the advantage of dynamic frame by frame metadata of Dolby Vision, compared to static metadata of HDR10. So there is a difference, but I would say it’s not night and day. I own a LG C9 and I have watched some movies with DV, and you will only notice the difference when you go back to HDR10 after watching the DV version.
My OCD doesn’t allow me to not own the Dolby Vision version(s), though.

      • Keller says:

Hey i own lg c9 too… Downloaded DV version of two towers but when i played from my USB, tv shows only HDR not dolby vision. Please help.

  27. Afr says:

Will be available also HDR version of. ROTK? Thx.

  30. Ray says:

Nothing seems to happen after second click of zippyshare for two towers to get to links? Thanks!!!

  31. Aragon says:

Thanks DAHAKA. Any difference between these FraMeSToR DV Remux and the ones posted earlier by BOREDOR? Ex – Filesize of FOTR by FraMeSToR is 117GB vs 114.2 by BOREDOR.

    Thanks for your work!

  32. Mark says:

Thanks so much for these. I see “DV” in The Two Towers filename. At this time, is that the only film that is available in Dolby Vision?

    Thanks again

  33. BigDaddy says:

Plex can’t seem to detect these for me and VLC won’t play them. No idea why. The dorukhan ones seem to work just fine.

  34. UHD Junkie says:

@DAHAKA HI, Please re-upload flash gordon 4k remux by framestor when you get a chance, links are down. Thanks.

  35. noma says:

@DAHAKA: Any news about the return of the king? My OCD prevents me to begin watching the films.

  36. noma says:

    No return of the king?

  37. ccc says:

Zidoos latest mediaplayer range are all DV hdr10+ hlg capable
    Plex is now also capable
Shield can play CV but is having big issues with big red shift

One issue ive seen so far is all the DV listed remuxes on here have used Makemkv 1.15.1
they actually need to be made with the latest 1.15.3 for DV to actually work
meaning the DV doesnt work on them atm ..they play as HDR

    • Peter J. says:

That’s actually not the case. None of the known groups use MakeMKV (never have), and even the BOREDOR/SMAHAWUG releases were not created with it.

i was more saying it cos more stuffs coming thu labeled as Dolby vision and doesnt actually work

    • Twenty8 says:

Wait, I’ve been ripping ISOs with 1.15.2 for some time now and, according to Mediainfo, DV is there (can’t test because I have a Samsung TV, I’m saving DV rips for archival purposes).

Does it mean they won’t actually work? I thought 1.15.2 already ripped DV properly. Thanks for the heads-up though, I’ll update ASAP.

      • That guy says:

        1.15.2 should work for DV.
You can re-remux 1.15.1 DV rips with 1.15.3 to “fix” them.
1.15.1 kept all the necessary DV info, it just didn’t do it in a way that players will be able to read.
I haven’t personally tested 1.15.2 rips, but they show in Media Info correctly so….

        • Dngruss says:

          New version is available

          Revision history
          MakeMKV v1.15.4 (8.12.2020 )

Improved handling for discs with mastering errors
Many internal improvements and small bugfixes
Implemented seamless joining of TrueHD streams with overlapping frames based on Dominik Mydlil’s idea
MakeMKV now recognizes and converts double-track Dolby Vision MKV files
          Bug fixes:
Program could fail when processing TrueHD streams from MKV file
DTS core was not extracted from DTS-HD streams (1.15.0 regression)

          • Dngruss says:

Just wanted to add that I just tested the newest version of MakeMKV, v1.15.4 and Indeed it included both Dolby Vision and HRD 10+ in the output file.

  44. checkin says:

Thanks for this. But don’t get banned if staff find that, they can ban you immediately

  45. Peter J. says:

    Thanks, Dahaka! First as always…

I noticed that FraMeSToR did their thing once again and released two versions of each movie. One with DV, and one without. Posted here as of right now is The Fellowship of the Ring without DV.

    • noma says:

      What is DV?

and here is some more word for the word limiter….

      • Kyle Clark says:

DV is Dolby Vision the best/highest quality HDR format.

        • noma says:

I see. Thanks. Can Plex stream (not transcode!) Dolby Vision yet?
If so, I’d like to download DV as well.

        • dokarr says:

Most of the time yes, DV is the best. But there are exceptions. In LOTR’s case, DV is identical to HDR10. So there’s really no point to get the DV version.

          • Yoo says:

The reviewer uses a TCL 55P607, it’s three years old, it was a good model at the time (like the KS8000 for example), but there are much better models now that can utilize DV.

          • dokarr says:

            @Yoo

I personally compared it on my LG C9, which is about the best TV that can be used for DV (aside from Panasonic HZ2000). I’m not going off some reviewer using who knows what TV.

The difference between HDR10 and DV for all 3 LOTR films are minute, absolutely no way to notice them without comparing side by side.

      • Dave says:

        Dolby Vision (HDR)
